Common Questions

How do you make sure your tutors are qualified to teach my child?

We choose our tutors for both their skill and their heart—educators who know how to connect with kids, understand their needs, and help them grow with confidence.

What ages or grade levels do you teach?

We teach elementary and middle school students. Our lessons are designed to support children from the early years up to the end of middle school, helping them develop and strengthen foundational skills in Math and English Language Arts.

How do your online tutoring classes work?

Our online tutoring classes take place through video calls, where students meet one-on-one with a qualified Native English speaking tutor. Lessons are filled with interactive activities to keep students engaged. We focus on helping each child understand and enjoy Math or English Language Arts at their own pace.

What do I need at home for my child to join your classes?

Your child will need a device with stable internet access, a webcam, and a microphone.  While a desktop or laptop would be ideal for making the most of Zoom’s interactive features, tablets, phones, and Chromebooks that meet these requirements can also be used successfully.  A quiet space, a pencil and a notebook are also necessary for the best learning experience. We provide all lesson materials online, so there is no need to buy any extra materials.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 25 minutes long.  Just enough time to learn a new skill!

This allows convenience for your busy schedule.

How are sessions structured?

The first week of sessions will focus on completing our diagnostic assessment.  After the diagnostic is complete, your tutor will focus on individual skills your child is ready to be challenged by.  They will teach a lesson and give your child time to practice with supervision and corrective supports.

What does each session cost?

Each session cost $25 USD.

How many sessions are recommended per week?

In order for students to grow rapidly, we recommend three sessions per week.  This allows for time to complete 25 minutes of assignments on alternate days.

How will I know my child is progressing?

You will recieve an email weekly describing the skills we worked on, your child’s progress, and plans for the next week.

Will I receive progress updates?

Yes!  After your child’s session you will receive an email detailing the skills they worked on that day, their progress toward that skill, recommended assignments before our next session, and other pertinant information.
